Event Date: May 13th, 2023 Latinx transfer day is a yield event for newly admitted Latinx transfers to celebrate their admission to UCLA as well as offer resources and support for an easier transition to UC. We plan to host a tabling section and are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping out. Stay tuned and we will be sure to post more information as it becomes available!

Event Date: Sunday April 23rd from 2:00pm - 4:00pm Join the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) at the Willows Community School, a DK-8 school serving the greater Los Angeles area, as we host a Density and Buoyancy module at this year's Science Sunday Funday event, where we will demonstrate how to make lava lamps with products you can find at home! We are looking for eager volunteers who want hands-on experience leading a science module! The following is logistical information: Place: Willows Community School, Culver City When: Sunday April 23rd 2-4pm. Volunteer shifts available: 1:00pm-3:00pm (includes set up) 3:00pm-5:00pm (includes clean up) We aim to have 4 volunteers for each 2-hour shift. Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts. Upon confirmation from all volunteers, we will provide all necessary equipment/reagents for the Lava Lamp demo: Water bottle, water, vegetable oil, food coloring, alka seltzer tablets as well as a detailed explanation/protocol for the module.
