A call for applications for this program organized by Gilliam Fellows at UCSF!
"We are organizing an in-person event on November 17/18th for native basic biology scientists that aims to provide a platform, community, and meaningful opportunities to native scientists across career stages. Currently we are soliciting applications from undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars. Trainees that are participating will have travel costs covered if they do not have available alternative funds, will be directly connected to relevant pipeline programs into UCSF, and potential research advisors. In the longterm we want to build a community of native and indigenous scholars at UCSF across career stages. This event is the first step on that path. The event will be in-person (likely hybrid to allow remote participants) held in San Francisco at UCSF. We are going to have native scientists across the country give talks at this research symposium at the trainee (undergrad, graduate, postdoc), faculty, and elder levels. The talks focus will be open ended but could be just about the speakers science or also include how ones indigenous identity and journey informs ones science, outreach, and beyond." Deadline: September 1st 2021 Interested? Find the application here!

They are a co-lead for the SACNAS at Genentech Professional Chapter and want to share an exciting opportunity at Genentech!
--- We are excited to announce that Genentech’s world-class biomedical research organization is launching an open call for our postdoc program aimed at identifying top scientific talent, independent of a specific job posting for a given Genentech scientist’s lab. Applicants are provided the freedom to select three potential Genentech postdoc mentors that they are most interested in working with in order to propel the next stage of their scientific career. Our existing postdoc hiring process will also continue, wherein students can apply for specific openings, however this new approach enables students to apply for a postdoc position in any Genentech postdoc mentor’s lab. Applications for the “Postdoc Hiring Initiative (PHI): Open Call for Postdocs” are due by Friday July 30, 2021 at 5:30pm (PDT). We plan to offer this type of postdoc opportunity during a limited timeframe on an annual basis. Please help us spread the word by forwarding this information and the attached flyer to your senior graduate students and recently minted graduate students who you think might be interested in our postdoc program, especially those from historically underrepresented groups.
