UCLA's McNair Research Scholars Program is recruiting applicants! This is a two-year research-based intensive program established in 2003 that prepares underserved undergraduate students interested in pursuing a PhD. We provide stipends, mentorship, travel opportunities and a cohort of amazing scholars.

I am writing to let you know that Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai will be hosting a Virtual Biomedical Research Symposium for Underrepresented Scholars. It will take place on November 4th, 2020 and the applications are due on Friday, October 9th by 5pm.
The symposium is open to underrepresented students that are interested in graduate school. Undergraduates, Master's students as well as PREP scholars, technicians/research associates and non-traditional students are welcome to apply. Best presenters will receive application fee waivers for the program of their choice for the 2020-2021 application cycle. I am reaching out regarding an opportunity at Genentech for UCLA undergraduate students of at least junior standing: Every year, Genentech grants the Outstanding Student Award (OSA) to outstanding students at select schools in disciplines related to biotechnology. One winner from each school will be awarded $2,500 and a guaranteed three-month summer internship starting in May/June 2021. The internship is in the Pharmaceutical Technical Development (PTD) organization, which includes a variety of functions such as cell culture, purification, analytics, and pharmaceutical development. Please see the attached flyer for more information about the program and directions on how to apply. Applications for the Outstanding Student Award will be due by October 11th. Additionally, applications for the Process Development Rotational Program (PDRP) are currently being accepted. PDRP is a 2 year rotational program that provides recent grads with the opportunity to gain exposure to 4 different departments within PTD. The attached flyer provides additional details about PDRP.
