A call for applications for this program organized by Gilliam Fellows at UCSF!
"We are organizing an in-person event on November 17/18th for native basic biology scientists that aims to provide a platform, community, and meaningful opportunities to native scientists across career stages. Currently we are soliciting applications from undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars. Trainees that are participating will have travel costs covered if they do not have available alternative funds, will be directly connected to relevant pipeline programs into UCSF, and potential research advisors. In the longterm we want to build a community of native and indigenous scholars at UCSF across career stages. This event is the first step on that path. The event will be in-person (likely hybrid to allow remote participants) held in San Francisco at UCSF. We are going to have native scientists across the country give talks at this research symposium at the trainee (undergrad, graduate, postdoc), faculty, and elder levels. The talks focus will be open ended but could be just about the speakers science or also include how ones indigenous identity and journey informs ones science, outreach, and beyond." Deadline: September 1st 2021 Interested? Find the application here!
