Hello SACNAS community!
In getting the word out far and wide I am sharing this paid internship opportunity for your members (community college, undergraduate, graduate, or recent grads) to sail on a deep ocean Exploration Vessel Nautilus conducting interdisciplinary expeditions to places never seen before on Earth. Ocean Exploration Trust hosts four types of paid 3-5 week internships this summer/fall in Ocean Science, acoustic Seafloor Mapping, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Engineering, and Video Engineering. All expenses are paid traveling to meet the ship and time aboard is funded as you work closely embedded in the expedition team alongside other STEM professionals. Education and outreach are central to the Nautilus Exploration Program and all expeditions stream live 24/7 on www.nautiluslive.org so interns have many opportunities to contribute to storytelling and serve as role models for students and explorers around the world. Students whose intersectional identities are underrepresented in STEM are highly encouraged to apply. Applications are open now and close January 24th. I hope you can help to share this through your chapter and any other networks to make sure interested SACNISTAs have this cross their path. Interested students can download an application packet and learn more at www.nautiluslive.org/education. Please feel free to contact me with any questions (Megan Cook - [email protected])
